To help your students practice different intonation give them a simple sentence, such as "We’re going to the shops this afternoon." In pairs get one student to say it in ways that sound bored, surprised, interested, excited and to make it like a question. The other student has to guess which one. You can also do this exercise online in a video chat. It can help students to start to speak and can be a lot of fun as well!
