Materials: students’ own objects from home
Time: each student turn should last no longer than 5 minutes
This is a great activity if you are teaching online as students will easily have an object to hand.
Ask your students, for homework, to choose an object that is special to them. It can be anything at all, from an old well-loved teddy bear to a souvenir they bought on holiday.
In the lesson, students can then show the treasured object and talk about why it is special to them. Students can ask questions about it and find out more of the story behind the object.
For more advanced levels, ask the students who are showing the object to tell a true or false story about the object and the students have to ask questions and then decide which is true or false.
