Practise and Pass Flyers - Pupil's Book

Cambridge English Young Learner's Test

Practise and Pass Flyers is especially useful for pupils who need to prepare and practise for the Cambridge YLE Test over a relatively short period or alongside another course book. It provides 20 to 30 hours of material

Authors: Viv Lambert, Cheryl Pelteret

ISBN: 9781905085422

Series:Delta Young Learners English Course

Level:Flyers

Practise and Pass Flyers is much more than a collection of practice tests. The activities are lively and communicative and follow a clear progression, so the pupils prepare, practise and pass.

In the “prepare” section the language is introduced, in the “practise” section the language is practised in a meaningful and fun way and finally in the “pass” section the language is tested in a way that will make the eventual test familiar to the pupils.

The Pupil’s Book is further divided into three sections , with separate sections covering the Listening, Speaking and Reading and Writing parts of the test, so that it is possible to work on different parts of the exam if extra work is required.

Throughout the book there are fun-based hints and tips on exam techniques which will help pupils when they come to take the test. There is also a full Practice Test at the end of the Pupil’s Book.

Viv Lambert

I studied French, German and Linguistics at Reading University in the UK before getting an RSA Diploma in TEFL and teaching experience in Europe and South East Asia. After several years travelling and teaching English, I returned to the UK to work in the publishing industry where I worked in house editing and commissioning children’s books and Primary EFL materials. I now work from home near Oxford as a freelance editor and author specialising in Primary ELT materials as well as teaching French at my local Primary School and being involved in teacher training in Oxford. I have written and co-written various primary courses including Mighty Movers and Fantastic Flyers for Delta.

I have two young children and take an active part in their primary school activities. Other hobbies include tennis, running, travel and languages, and I am currently learning Spanish at evening classes.

Cheryl Pelteret

I have been involved in language teaching for the past 30 years – as a teacher, editor and writer. After completing my degree at the University of Cape Town, I moved from teaching English as a first and second language, to EFL – first in the UK and then in Turkey, where I taught students of all ages and levels. On my return to the UK I taught at a language school and obtained my RSA Diploma in TEFL. I then entered the publishing industry as an ELT editor. Since becoming a freelance writer some 15 years ago, I have written several course books and a range of supplementary materials for  adults, teenagers and young learners. I enjoy writing skills material, and have a particular interest in improving students’ speaking skills through interesting, relevant and fun activities. I recently obtained my Post-graduate Certificate in Teaching ESOL at the Institute of Education, London, and divide my time between writing
and teaching ESOL – the perfect balance!
