Delta wins 2010 ELTons UK Award for Innovation
Thursday 4 March 2010
Teaching Unplugged, by Luke Meddings and Scott Thornbury, was unveiled as one of this year’s British Council ELTons winners at a ceremony in London on 3rd March.
The authors were presented with the UK Award for Innovation with Luke, a first-time published author, giving a short speech. Scott said both he and Luke were delighted with the recognition that Teaching Unplugged has received:
“Luke and I are delighted that Teaching Unplugged has been recognized as innovative: in the face of the almost relentless pressure to ‘technologize’ education, it is encouraging that our attempt to foreground the human side of teaching has been validated. We’re also pleased that Delta’s commitment to innovative methodology writing has been given the rubber stamp by the EFL establishment!”
Delta’s Nick Boisseau was also present and celebrated this second award for the new Delta Teacher Development Series: “We are delighted to receive this important award that recognizes Teaching Unplugged as a truly ‘innovative’ book”.
